This week was the real solo experience! I went back to the SPCA Western QUEBEC to take pictures of owners and their dogs/cats as part of a fundraising event for there organization. Last week, I shadowed my teacher Harry Nowell, but this week I was the lead photographer of the event.
In the morning, I had some butterflies in my stomach but I knew I could do a good job and I was well prepared. After setting up the scene and making sure everything was working properly then the pressure when down and it was time to have some fun. First clients….. 4 big dogs in the same picture!!! Action you say…. it was the most difficult setting of the day but it went very well. Everybody seems to enjoy there time with Santa, I had a lot of fun and people liked there pictures.
We had all kinds of dogs and our first cat of the event. Some of the dogs were rescued by the SPCA and the staff was more then happy to see them back in good health. That was very moving!
It was a great experience. A solo assignment that gave me a good idea of what it looks like to organize an on site photo session. During that day, even Harry stoped by to have his picture taken with his dog Biscuit. His dog has been rescued by the SPCA last year.
So have a look at all the different animals that showed up to have a picture taken with Santa.
